Jeti is a Java Jabber client that supports most chat features such as file transfer, group chat, emoticons, and formatted messages.
Jeti can be used as an application or as a Web applet.
Jeti is an instant messenger based on the Jabber protocol, it is programmed in Java so it can run on every computer with at least java 1.4.
Here are some key features of “Jeti”:
· Plugin Based, activate only the features you need.
· Basic chat and messages.
· SSL security and Socks proxy
· Basic Filetransfers (Not with transports or through firewalls)
· Groupchat
· Message logging.
· Formatted messages.
· Emoticons.
· Meta contacts, contacts with the same name will be bunbled
· Can register and update transports (MSN AIM Yahoo etc)
What’s New in This Release:
· reworked the systemtray plugin to use java 6 features so it doesn’t need any native libraries anymore
· Used the jdic systeminfo plugin for the idle plugin so idle works now also on solaris and linux
· improved the sound plugin so it should work better on linux
· Added stream compression (XEP 138) plugin
· Used java 6 browser selection for the link plugin so that should work on all platforms now
